| Spanish GCSE | SPAN026 |
This is a popular choice at GCSE and allows you to develop your knowledge of Spanish, Spain and Spanish-speaking countries as you prepare for a Global future.
It is worth noting that Spanish GCSE can be studied from scratch through an ‘ab-initio’ course. We call upon pupils’ knowledge of French given that they have studied that language across KS3 to enhance their learning, looking at similarities between the two languages with vocabulary and grammar.
The following topics will be covered:
- Identity and Culture – Youth Culture, Lifestyles and Customs and Traditions.
- Wales and the World – Home and Locality, Wider World and Global Sustainability.
- Current and Future Study and Employment – Enterprise, Employability and Future Plans.
Examinations
You will sit Speaking, Listening, Reading and Writing Examinations at the end of Year 11. Each skill is worth 25% of your final GCSE grade and can be examined at Higher or Foundation Tier.
