Mr M. Frew – Chair of Governors
Every school has a Governing Body which works with the Head and the school, collectively and through committees, guiding the strategic direction of the school. The Governing Body works for example to:
- allocate the school’s budget
- develop the school’s policies
- appoint and dismiss staff
- monitor academic standards
- monitor school discipline
- handle complaints
- plan building repair and maintenance
Who are our Governors?
Governors are unpaid volunteers. They include parents, business people, teachers and others with the skills and interest to support the running and development of the school.

Meetings of the full governing body
Governing body committees & Sub-committees
The whole governing body meets once a term, to review and plan for the work done in committee and the running of the school. You can read the Governing Body’s Annual Reports here.
Governors work together in smaller groups throughout the year, dealing with particular responsibilities through committees and sub-committees on behalf of the full governing body. The committees usually meet once or twice a term, depending on their remit. They include committees for; Ethos & well-being, Business & Resources, Teaching & Learning, and, Standards & Provision.
