Gowerton School celebrates its 130 year history working tirelessly with its present pupils and preparing for our future Gowertonians. We provide a wide range of opportunities both within and beyond the curriculum. Achievement of all kinds is valued and celebrated.
Having taught at Gowerton school for 35 years I understand the importance of a caring inclusive safe environment for the pupils to strive, thrive, and achieve.
Our motto ‘Mi Ddylwn Mi Allaf, Mi Fynnaf’ is always at the centre of our ethos. Its meaning, ‘I Should, I Can, I Shall’ and the values we as a community have decided upon, to be responsible, to have self-belief and to be ambitious are interwoven into our daily lives.

Our School
Established in 1896 Gowerton School’s catchment area include the North Gower Partnership Primary Schools; Gowerton Primary, Penclawdd, Penyfro, Llanrhidian and Waunarlwydd. We are an 11-19 school, currently of 1100 pupils, which includes our 6th Form students. Our last Estyn report noted –

The school aims to provide an ordered, caring environment in which all pupils are given equal opportunities to develop their talents to the fullest possible extent.
Pupils are also encouraged to be aware of their responsibilities to themselves, other people and their environment. This education should equip Gowerton pupils to take their place in society in a responsible and caring manner, able to contribute and play a major part throughout their lives in the continuing tradition of Gowerton School.
