Art and Design provides students with opportunities to develop personal responses to ideas, observations, experiences, environments and cultures in practical, critical and contextual forms.
The specification comprises one unit at AS and two units at A2. Students will be introduced to a variety of experiences employing a range of media, processes and techniques appropriate to the chosen area of study:
Course content
Students will produce practical and critical/contextual work in one or more areas including painting, drawing, mixed-media, textiles, sculpture, land art, printmaking and photography: lens-based and/or light-based media.
Entry requirements
Prior Learning.
It is recommended that pupils have at least a C grade GCSE in Art or Design. If not it is advisable to bring a small portfolio of Artwork to demonstrate skills.
