Our A-Level Chemistry students traded the school lab for the state-of-the-art undergraduate laboratories at Swansea University this week.
Students took part in an exclusive university outreach session, putting their classroom theory into action by conducting their A-Level Specified Practical Work. Our pupils truly lived our school values throughout the day:
- Be Ambitious: They stepped up to the challenge of advanced university-level chemistry, successfully carrying out a complex two-step synthesis, aspirin synthesis, and liquid synthesis.
- Be Responsible: They worked with high precision, managing industry-standard equipment and chemicals safely and maturely.
- Be Respectful: They showed fantastic manners, engaged thoughtfully with the university staff, and acted as brilliant ambassadors for our sixth form.
