Barcelona Sports Tour 2026

Barcelona Sports Tour 2026

Dear Parents/Carers,

With our Barcelona Sports Tour fast approaching, I would like to share some final arrangements and important information ahead of our departure on Saturday.

We are all really looking forward to what promises to be a fantastic experience for the pupils.  However, to ensure everything runs smoothly, I would be grateful if you could read the following information carefully and discuss the key points with your child before we travel.

1. Departure Arrangements – Saturday

All pupils must arrive at Park Road on Saturday at 10:30am, ready to load the coaches.  The coaches will be departing school promptly at 11:00am.

It is extremely important that everyone arrives on time.  We have a long journey to Gatwick Airport ahead of us and are working to a strict travel schedule, so unfortunately we cannot afford any delays.

Please ensure pupils are ready to board when instructed by staff.

2. Passports and Health Cards

All pupils must bring their passport and Health Card.

● Passports must be placed inside a brown envelope, with the pupil’s full name clearly written on the front.

● Their Health Card must also be placed inside the same envelope.

● Once pupils are seated on their allocated coach, tour leaders will collect the envelopes for safekeeping.

Please ensure these are prepared before arriving at school, as this will help speed up the departure process.

3. Coach Allocations

All pupils will be allocated a specific coach for the journey.

Pupils must ensure they board their allocated coach and remain with their designated coach group throughout the journey.

There will be no swapping between coaches, as staff need to maintain accurate registers and ensure all pupils are accounted for at all times.  We appreciate your support in reinforcing this with your child.

4. Travel Clothing

All pupils must arrive wearing their official tour leisurewear.  This includes:

● Navy T-shirt

● Tour shorts (leggings for the girls)

● Maroon quarter-zip top

We would appreciate all pupils arriving in the correct clothing so that we look smart and represent the school appropriately throughout our travels.

5. Luggage and Rucksacks

On arrival, pupils will be directed to load their suitcases onto their allocated coach.  Once their cases have been loaded, pupils should board the coach with their rucksacks only.

Please ensure pupils have any essentials they may need during the coach journey in their rucksacks, including snacks, drinks and personal items.

6. Communication During the Tour

A dedicated school mobile number will be provided to all pupils and parents before departure.

Should you need to contact me whilst we are in Barcelona, please use this number rather than contacting the school directly – 07943 718317.

This will allow us to maintain clear communication throughout the tour and ensure any important messages reach us promptly.

7. Tour Itinerary and Daily Updates

Please take some time to familiarise yourselves with our planned activities by following the itinerary link below:

We would also strongly recommend that all parents and guardians follow our school PE Instagram page:

@gowertonPE

We will be updating this page daily throughout the tour, sharing photographs, activities and highlights of what the pupils have been getting up to.

This will be a great way for families back home to follow our adventures and see the fantastic opportunities the pupils are experiencing.

8. Final Reminders

We kindly ask that all pupils arrive fully prepared, with the correct travel clothing, documentation and luggage. Please ensure you do not go over the 20kg limit as this could occur additional charges for your child.

Please remind your child that they are representing the school throughout the tour, and we expect the same high standards of behaviour, respect and cooperation that we would expect in school.

The staff have put a great deal of time and effort into organising this experience, and we want every pupil to make the most of this fantastic opportunity.

Please could parents refrain from parking in the bus bays on drop off as this could cause problems for the coaches.

Finally…

I would like to take this opportunity to thank all parents and carers for your continued support in making this tour possible.

We are incredibly excited to be taking the pupils to Barcelona, and I am sure it will be an unforgettable experience filled with sport, new opportunities, friendships and memories that will last a lifetime.

We look forward to seeing everyone at Park Road at 10:30am on Saturday, ready for the adventure to begin!

Many thanks,

Mrs Jones and Mr Roberts
