Welsh Government have announced they are expanding Free School Meals in Secondary Schools for all pupils whose parent/carer/guardian is in receipt of Universal Credit, regardless of earnings. This is called “Extended Free School Meals”.
This will initially be for all Year 7 and 8 pupils and will only cover the food element of Free School Meals. Parents whose children receive Extended Free School Meals only will not be eligible for the Schools Essentials Grant.
Applications (Click here) are now welcome from parents, carers and guardians whose children are in Year 7 and Year 8 and qualify for Extended Free School Meals. However, the meal will not be in place at the start of the academic year. We will notify you of the date the meal will be available through school communications in due course.
