Welcome Back to School – Thursday 3rd September
A very warm welcome back to all our pupils, parents and carers. We hope everyone has had a safe, happy and restful summer break, and we are looking forward to starting another exciting and successful school year together.
📍 Arrival arrangements for tomorrow
Pupils should report to their Head of Year (HOY) between 8.20am and 8.40am in the following locations.
Year 7 – Main Hall
Year 8 – A Block Canteen
Year 9 – Sports Hall
Year 10 – B Block Canteen
Year 11 – Drama Studio
📚 A few reminders for the new school year:
– Pupils will begin the year on Week 1 of the timetable.
– Timetables will be issued by form tutors on Thursday 3rd September.
– Pupils should arrive with basic equipment, including a school bag, pen and pencil, to be ready to learn.
– The school is cashless. Please ensure iPay accounts are activated and topped up if pupils wish to purchase food from the canteen.
– Pupils eligible for free school transport will receive their bus passes during the first week. They can travel on school buses without their pass during that first week.
– Please ensure pupils arrive in the correct school uniform. The navy school polo shirt with the school badge is the standard polo shirt, and the navy branded hooded top is no longer part of the uniform. The maroon school sweatshirt should be worn as the appropriate uniform layer. More information can be found here: https://gowertonschool.com/school-uniform/
– Trousers, skirts and shorts should be formal school wear in black or charcoal grey, with plain black, suitable footwear.
– Mobile phones must be switched off and kept in pupils’ bags from 8.40am until 3.00pm.
