Our World, Our Languages: Stories that Connect Us

On Wednesday 1st July, a group of our Year 8–10 pupils had the fantastic opportunity to attend Languages Day at Swansea University.

Throughout the day, pupils immersed themselves in a range of inspiring activities designed to celebrate languages, cultures and the many opportunities that learning a language can provide. They enjoyed engaging language workshops, listened to inspirational speakers and gained a valuable insight into university life, while discovering how languages can open doors to future study, travel and careers.

The day perfectly complemented the Curriculum for Wales and the new WJEC GCSE Languages courses, encouraging pupils to think beyond the classroom and appreciate the importance of multilingualism in our increasingly connected world.

Our pupils represented the school exceptionally well throughout the visit. They were enthusiastic, respectful and fully engaged in every activity, demonstrating curiosity, confidence and a genuine passion for language learning.

📸 The photos below capture some of the highlights from a thoroughly enjoyable and inspiring day. We would like to thank Swansea University’s Department of Modern Languages, Translation and Interpreting for hosting such a memorable event and providing our pupils with an experience that we hope will inspire many of them to continue their language-learning journey.
