As part of our Summer Literature Festival, which we are delighted to launch this week, we were thrilled to welcome acclaimed storyteller Daniel Morden to the school for an inspiring visit with Year 7.
Daniel met with every single Year 7 learner, ensuring that each pupil had the opportunity to hear from and engage with a professional storyteller in person. This whole-year-group experience made the visit truly special, as every child was included in the event and inspired by Daniel’s passion for storytelling.
He spoke about the key ingredients of a good story and captivated pupils with a live telling of his own narrative, The Squirrel and the Fox, from his collection Dark Tales from the Woods.
Pupils were then given the opportunity to develop their creativity, as Daniel guided them in constructing their own endings to the story. The session sparked imagination, enthusiasm and a wide range of inventive ideas across the year group.
A fantastic and memorable start to our Summer Festival
